Always exceptionally clean and comfortable
If I had just the smallest niggle - selection of tea and coffee in the room - no fruit/mint/herbal tea or hot chocolate

The staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel is close to the bus links. The breakfast was very good with lots of choice. The amount of history involving the hotel
There was not so much as a dis like more of an observation that the porters bar is only open between Thursday and Saturday or was not open duetting our stay Sunday to Thursday. It would have been nice to experience the bar

Superb location, historic venue. Pleasant reception staff
Really heavy doors to rooms, tired bathrooms, no toiletries such as vanity or toothbrush etc just a fairly lacklustre body wash firmly affixed to the wall. View from window directly on to a snooker club. Room ready after 3pm. Housekeeping had to be asked to change the towels even though they were left on floor though when he came to do so he was very pleasant and apologetic. No fitness facilities though there is one a 15minute walk away.
