Lovely grand property.
Little tired in areas, in particular rooms and spa facilities.

The Atrium bar was absolutely beautiful and had a sense of space and calm to it at breakfast time. The building itself it beautiful although finding your room felt a challenge.
Our first room smelled like wet or damp canine and so we asked to be moved. I'm not sure if the bed blanket just hadn't been washed but there was a definite odour to the room. We were moved and that room felt like shake and vac and was much better, although sadly it felt a little smaller. We ate in the main restaurant on the first night and unfortunately the food was undercooked. The staff were great and apologetic and we did get the meal removed from the bill. The hotel is doing well at reducing carbon footprint etc but it did feel like you needed a map to find your room. The signage on the walls was sometimes a little confusing. It became something we joked about with other guests as we were all trying to find our rooms. The fitness and wellbeing facilities unfortunately felt lacking and just tired. We'd originally booked as somewhere to visit we could stay and nourish ourselves, but we ended up heading out to explore Bristol in the storm because it felt better than staying inside.
