We like this hotel, it’s nice and in a good location
Not the hotel’s fault ( but Booking.com!) we thought we had a (lovely!) breakfast included… it wasn’t!

We were celebrating our 45th Sapphire Wedding Anniversary and my husband's 74th birthday.
The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient.
The breakfasts and the supper was very nice.
The disable carpark spaces were adequate.
Bed was comfortable.
Sheets & towels were clean.
The inside of the door to our room needed cleaning.
The wals inside the room, near the entrance door were filthy. It was if someone had peed up the wall.
There was dust and cobwebs all over the accessibility room we were given.
The whole room needed a good spring clean, particularly the bottom part of the walls.

Room was ok, bed was ok, breakfast was ok, location was impressive with some good walks. Interactions with staff were good. Slept well.
View from the room on to an external walkway, had to keep curtains closed to ensure privacy. First place I've stayed where I've had to pay for a Flat White to go with my breakfast - a little pennypinching, I thought, especially as I had to follow the waitress through to the bar to pay for it immediately rather than charge it to my room. The hotel is set in mature grounds and has been added to several times over the years such that if your room is any distance from reception it is easier and quicker to walk around the outside of the building rather than the warren inside with several changes in elevation. Decor, especially the pictures, a little tatty in places and repetitive. Shower controls were not intuitive consisting of three separate controls and the bathroom itself very small. The door had to be closed in order to use the toilet otherwise you had the door quite literally between your knees. I could go on but life is too short....
