The Kings Arms and Royal Hotel, Godalming, Surrey - The Coaching Inn Group

Excellent

Liked it all

Breakfast was great! Room was comfortable. Staying for 5 days we could have done with some more coathangers

My husband is a Dr and was horrified how dirty the door handles were. Our room was serviced very poorly. When we came in at the end of the day the cushions which should have been on the bed were on the floor. The next night the throw was on the stool where we had folded it the previous night. It should have been put back on the bed. My husband noticed that the cups he had used had left ring marks in the bathroom. They were still there when we came in that night. Our breakfast was most enjoyable on the Monday and Tuesday mornings but when the staff changed on Wednesday it was a different story. All we could hear was them complaining and grumbling at the till, the attitude of the younger lady left a lot to be desired. A general observation for both ourselves and other diners was that there were no tables set for us. More tables need to be set especially for the guests who are staying at the hotel. You may find my comments harsh but I have spent years in hospitality across many countries and I know it's the little things that make the difference.

Everything sampled very good.

Great location. The building has atmosphere.

Tiny room .... booking .com does not clearly show just how small some of the rooms are. Hotel management told me afterwards that only an average size is shown on B.com website. Very small and uncomfortable double bed. I've used this hotel at least 4 times over the past 2 years. This was my worst experience, I know there are better rooms available. This was not good value for money.
