The staff was lovely and we have an awesome experience with Johanas our guide to Sossusvlei and surprised us champagne after our hike. Great touch. I can’t remember our guides name for the the horse back riding but he was absolutely lovely and he also played the drums at our dinner entertainment! Give that man a raise! He had so much passion and love for the horses and the drums. Everyone was lovely!

Monique the manager on duty would not give us a late check out on the day we had hot air balloon ride seeing as the activity wrapped at 9:30. We asked to checkout at 11 instead of 10 and she said absolutely not. Since the activities are a vital part of the experience, there should be some more grace and accomendation. Not what I was expecting from a place like this honestly. Besides her everything else was fantastic.

The staff, location, lodge design, view, food (great dinners), home atmosphere, horses, and most importantly very very nice and good people working at the facility. Amazing sundowner tour and Sossusvlei tour with perfect, super nice guide... Overall, great experience and great value for money.

The site is beautiful and serene, and the hotel is located in a nice area.

I find the hotel extremely overpriced for what it offers. A set dinner is served every night, but there are no choices — if the meal is lamb chops, that’s what everyone eats. They could easily offer a small buffet with grilled meats and sausages, as many other lodges do. Breakfast was also disappointing — no sausages or bacon, and overall very limited options for a hotel charging €300 per night. That’s simply not acceptable for the price. When we arrived, we were told that our 5-year-old child had to pay, even though the booking clearly stated children stay free. The receptionist said she would check with management and get back to us, but she never did. At checkout, we were told we had to pay an extra €70 per night for our child, bringing the total to €370 per night — outrageous for the service received. On a positive note, the staff were friendly, and when I fell ill, the manager kindly gave me some medicine — a thoughtful gesture I appreciated. Still, I cannot recommend paying this price for the level of service offered. I’ve stayed in smaller lodges that provided buffets and thoughtful touches for half the cost.
