The hotel was well appointed, welcoming and professional. Staff very helpful and friendly. A beautiful building of mixed dates (one end modern) was excellent. Our room was in the historic end, full of character and thoughtfully decorated. Steep stairs but had been warned as such. Very comfortable beds, ready early, good amenities in the room. Quiet and relaxing. Easy parking. Great location.
The hot breakfast was offered promptly on arrival in the dining area and produced very quickly. It was a little 'mass produced' and not at a standard that I would expect with the hotel exceeding expectations on all other fronts. Continental spread was very good.

The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Was able to check in early, which was much appreciated.
Only criticism is the pillows were very soft / flat. There was no option to change them.
