the room, breakfast, and the bus service are good.
The reception staff was slow in finishing registration. The luggage assistance was slow while check in and they did not turn up during check-out despite calling them. Parking was too difficult. There was no support in finding out the space for parking. After successfully locating the vacant parking space, the room boy/assistance of another customer tried to block the space for his customer.

Convenient location to Haram, shuttle is quick, takes less than 10 minutes to take you to Haram. Rooms are good sized, elevators are fast, price is reasonable.
Le Meridien then, Le Meridian now. What has happened to the staff? The waiters, bell boys, they seem to have no training at all to deal with customers. I am not saying they were not helpful but they have least amount of hospitality industry training. Back in the day the staff knew how to speak to guests, how to serve, how to communicate.
The brother who took our luggage to our room, walked straight onto the carpet with his shoes on, and had no etiquettes in terms of how to keep your gaze lowered when encountering females. Again, not trained, not his fault. Seems like the management saved loads of money and hired untrained and hence cheap labor, perhaps. And then he was looking at me as if it was my duty to give him some tip.
The AC button not working properly in the room, and my request for extending my stay was declined by the property, for whatever reason. I checked the rooms were available for new bookings anyway.
I have good memories with this place, as I used to frequent this hotel and had some of the most wonderful people in hospitality serve us, such a shame that the hotel has now lost its legacy. Not taken care of.
