Lovely quiet room, big bath and a large comfy bed. Location very convenient for visiting friends.
Buffet style breakfast, was expecting a choice of cocked eggs but there were only fried eggs. On the the second morning, we were the first guests in and had to wait for the eggs to arrive from the kitchen. Although the food was tasty, it was disappointing, expected a better offering.
The complimentary tea/coffee tray in the toom had the minimum amount of milk cartons, etc which was a bit miserly for a 4 star.
Two light bulbs were out, dripping tap in bathroom and no hairdryer.
The staff need more training to promote hotel services, it appeared quiet so why no table service at breakfast or special offers suggested for the Spa or dining on check-in? .

Beautiful setting, lovely grounds and very peaceful. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the staff are very friendly.
The interior layout is a bit of a maze, because it’s a beautiful old building. I didn’t find this a problem at all, but be prepared.

The bed was comfortable. Nothing else. Even the tv didn't work.
Not good service or restaurant/bar facilities. For a Friday night stopping orders at 815pm is poor especially when there is no bar food. This is the 3rd time at the hotel and the facilities have gone down hugely. On asking if we could order room service to the bar/lounge area - no we could have it delivered to our room then take it to the bar only. What they had to offer was very limited to 4-5 sandwiches with crisps and salad. I had a sandwich, salad and crisps delivered to my room with no cutlery to eat the salad.
The bathroom fan was broken and made a loud banging noise.
I spoke to the hotel prior to our stay twice (on email and on the phone) regarding our rooms. I requested/paid for an executive room with double and 2 singles for my husband, myself, 12 year old and dog, plus a twin room for my adult children. On arrival we were given 'an upgrade' to a feature room with a double bed (no singles) in the courtyard (dog friendly) and room with a double bed and z-bed that my husband split into 2 singles, so he could stay with my 12 year old. I slept by myself with the dog. 🤯🫣😬 An absolute shambles.
Last time they overbooked a wedding and threw us (a family of 5) into a small room with a double bed whereby 2 children slept on the floor and 1 in the bathtub.

"I liked the way they welcome guests with pets, room is ready with bedding for dogs, bowl and treat. The buffet breakfast is wonderful."
