Easy to find, nice pub and the room we stayed in (room 1) was well decorated (the person I spoke to on the phone said they’d spent £50k on it recently) and there was all the things you’d expect a standard room to have, so no issues!
The door had fallen, so the top lock didn’t work and it rattled in the night. The curtains were quite thin so let a lot of light in. No breakfast was offered and the staff who welcomed us didn’t quite seem to know what was what. We came back from eating in town to have a drink at the pub and, even though we were staying at the property felt rushed out at 11pm on a Saturday night. Nothing major and no major issues, but it just didn’t feel super welcoming. Whilst we understand from an overheard conversation that there had been a family bereavement it just took the shine of what was an otherwise nice stay.
