This hotel is a charming building, and the communal areas are full of character. The location is great, a short walk to Harrogate centre and Betty's.
The front of house team were all pleasant and helpful when needed. As were the restaurant staff.
We enjoyed the breakfast buffet.
The bathroom looked like it had been recently decorated.
If I were to describe the hotel overall, I'd say it had the vide of faded glamour. There was water damage in the main staircase and the whole place looked like it needed a coat of paint.
We were surprised to know that this hotel had some sort of 'green' certification as in order to stay warm you needed the heating on full blast! In our family room we thought a window was open but owing to the age of windows they were just incredibly drafty. Had the windows been able to close, they would surely save money and energy on yhy heating!
Whilst the staff were friendly, there was a.member of staff at breakfast who really should have been asked to address their personal hygiene.

Friendly staff and very clean premises but sometimes felt chilly. Food was also excellent
Faster service for food from the bar area

Location, good value for moey, parking
It was my sisters birthday and we had a small bottle of champagne which we wanted some ice for in our room. We were asked to pay GBP8.00 by the barman. More than the bottle of wine
