Did not meet our expectations for a month-long stay.

The floor plan was spacious and there was plenty of closet space and storage and a good bathroom.

The kitchen was poorly equipped for a month’s stay. The bed was uncomfortable and squeaked every time one of us moved. The location was anything but quiet. The playground, on a sunny day, would have ten to twenty screaming children outside our window. The school across the street made parking difficult and chaotic when the school day ended. There was no disclosure on the website regarding the chicken coop with the rooster, nor the fact that the quiet area behind the house shown on the website was totally under major construction. There was no hospitality. While I appreciate having the owner be discreet and do not require much assistance, I was totally disappointed when we arrived and the owner was not there to greet us. She did send us an email a day or so before checkin saying she would not be there and we could find the key above the entry door. Upon our arrival, we could not find the key because her directions were not clear. I did not have cell phone service to call her mother if we had problems, as she advised, and fortunately the Postman saw us and was able to call her mother for us. In the meantime we found the key not above the door as advised, but across the way on the garage/shed door. There is more but I am running out of room. I felt like this was run like a high-end youth hostel. This might be okay for travelers arriving from the train station staying a few days to one week, but no more. We stayed in Mittenwald for two months in 2015 and the place was wonderful. But we wanted to try Garmisch this time. Our time at Alta Villa did not meet our expectations and we were very disappointed. I am sorry Christine, but I need to give an honest review because other travelers on Booking.com depend on the reviews when choosing a vacation rental, especially long term rentals.

Een ruim appartement met een heerlijk groot balkon in de zon. Op loopafstand van het station en de bus naar de ski pistes. De bus gaat maar 1x per uur dus daar moet je rekening mee houden. Naast skiën kun je er ook heerlijk wandelen. Veel mogelijkheden voor culturele activiteiten zoals theater, bioscoop of concerten. Makkelijk inchecken.

De keuken inventaris is mager, geen deksels voor de pannen, 2 vaatwasblokjes en minimaal handdoeken. Geen kruiden of gezellig welkomstpakket. Zou het zoveel aangenamer maken.
