Sahara Sunset

Everyone is so friendly. Rooms are clean and spacious and location is fantastic, only a 5 minute walk to the sea and promenade.

The cleaners came at 6pm to clean, just as we were showering and getting ready to go out.

The proximity to the beach and the absolute friendliness of the staff.

Space directly outside the apartment was a bit confined for outdoor dining.

The complex is large, but very well maintained and very clean. The majority of the apartment blocks are on one site, but one is across an adjoining road, away from facilities. The reception staff are available 24hrs and were always very helpful. There is a spa, and a limited entertainment/ activities schedule, but not well advertised. Also a children’s club, but again. quite limited and not well advertised. A small restaurant with a limited menu and a small but well stocked supermarket. There are four pools, two larger outdoor, one children’s pool and one indoor with a jacuzzi (need a hat for the indoor ones). Unfortunately the large outdoor pool and children’s pool were closed for maintenance shortly after we arrived which put some pressure on the other outdoor pool. Our apartment was excellent, very well appointed with a brilliant kitchen. Good bathroom and shower, plenty towels. Beds very comfortable and plenty of storage space (we were in two bed apartments. Air conditioning and fans. Ours had a large balcony with sunbeds and lovely greenery. Our son’s balcony not so big, but rooms slightly bigger. We were changed to our room to facilitate a mobility issue and our family were put next door. However, not all rooms appear to be as good, some outdoor seating areas overlook roads and even into communal walkways. Probably worth asking for a room with a pool view. Very close (one minute walk up a slight hill) to the seafront, lovely flat long esplanade, excellent beach and restaurants, and close to a large park. 15/20 mins to the Marina, 20 mins uphill walk to the main town, train station and market. Our 2nd time to Benalmadena, easy to get to Malaga, Torremelinos, Fuengirola and other sight seeing places by local buses.

Closure of main pool not well advertised. Dining room chairs in our room needed replacing, but there had been an upgrade in our son’s apartment. Rooms seemed variable in size and location, so not sure what would be allocated, worth asking to change if not happy. Children’s activities are very limited, it’s a shame because there are good facilities for them but underutilised.

Comfortable bed. Clean. Reception staff were friendly.

Noisy. Bright sensor light shined in the bedroom at night every time someone walked by. Construction right off our balcony. We were fortunate to have a washing machine but the way the drying rack was positioned on the balcony, it took days for our clothes to dry. The provided instructions were out of date or not helpful. Things were poorly designed or not working. We flooded the bathroom during first shower due to the poorly designed shower stall. Place could use more artwork.
