- Very cozy atmosphere, fire pits, wood - I love it
- Friendly and helpful staff - when we mentioned that heating in our room is not working correctly, staff made sure to check it and provide us with portable heater in the meantime
- Breakfast was good for the American standard
- Instructions on what is where in the buildings could be easier, it wasn’t super easy to find our room

The clerk who processed our reservation was courteous. He led us to our room, showed us how to operate the HVAC, and asked if we needed anything. We told him a blanket since we were a little chilled from the open air Yosemite train ride. Such a nice motel! I really liked the beautiful and comforting old home (151 years old!) with the family room that included games, sofas, and a fireplace. The grounds are impeccable, and includes a sparkling, outdoor pool and outdoor games!
Our room was small, and the furniture a little scuffed up (needed to be re-varnished). The bed was more on the firm side, which I didn't mind, but my husband did. One light bulb was out or very dim in the ceiling light. We were a little dismayed the next morning because the breakfast was minimal and self-serve, so we left for a more substantial breakfast and to clock out.

We loved staying here. The building and rooms are extremely homely and cosy with lovely decoration. We loved the porch, especially with the view of the birds and deer. All day coffee and iced tea available was great. The heating and air-conditioning were both very effective and low volume, and the bed was comfy. The staff were all great. The hotel was the highlight of the trip. It was conveniently located to multiple trails and the town. I loved the firepit and the smores. It was clean and well looked after, and the room lighting was thoughtfully designed. It felt historic and not at all run down. I hope to visit again one day.
I think weirdly the coffee wasn't really warm most times I had it, and I think the breakfast could be improved by having some more savoury options, possibly some sliced meat and cheese as I think most items were sweet. But that's nitpicking!
