Centrella is a gem! Parking is easy and safe, even on the street, in this residential area. Love that it’s clearly a slower paced boutiquey beach town, and easily walkable to coffee, dinner, shops and the beach. SO love the maintenance of the historic decor at Centrella, and the old timey, personal feel of the service.

We really enjoyed the charming historic atmosphere of the hotel. The building has a lot of character and a beautiful vintage style, which made our stay feel special. Overall, the hotel was cozy and we had a pleasant experience.
The main thing that could be improved is the bedding. The pillows were very firm and felt quite old, and the bed linens also seemed worn and could definitely use an update. There was also a slight old carpet smell in the room. Another disappointment was the parking. We expected parking to be available, but there was no dedicated parking space, so we had to look for street parking around the hotel.

The property is a beautiful old building with a lot of historic character. The location is excellent, especially if you want to experience Monterey beyond just the tourist areas. It is within walking distance of the shore and there are plenty of things to explore around the neighborhood.
The hotel is also very well connected, and the surrounding area has a genuine Monterey feel. I particularly liked having 24-hour coffee available in the lobby, which was very convenient.
Wi-fi speed is good.
The rooms are quite small, and the parking is very limited. Parking is available on a first come, first served basis, so if you arrive a little late, you may have to drive around the surrounding blocks to find an available roadside parking spot.
The breakfast was also a disappointment. The options were extremely limited, basically a croissant, yogurt and juice, so there was very little choice.
The reception is not staffed 24 hours, which can be inconvenient if you need assistance late at night. The building is very old, and some of the facilities showed their age. The heating system in our room was very old and not very efficient, and the blinds were malfunctioning during our stay.
