I loved the location! It was a short walking distance to Palisades Park, The Santa Monica Beach and so many good restaurants.
I think the only thing I can think of is maybe it would have been better if the Cal Mar would have gallons of water available for sale on site. It's so hot in LA (for us-we're from Alaska) and we needed to walk to CVS to buy drinking water.

We loved staying at this location, it was easy to walk to places and also to park the car and drive further around LA.
The pool was lovely and great to have this outside our apartment.
The only negative comment is the smell of the swimming pool was quite strong and you could smell it through the kitchen windows.

I like most is that it is very close to the santa monica pier and walking distance to restaurants, shops.
There is no AC in the rooms, there is also no elevator so you must take the stairs which is not great if your on the second floor coming in from the parking area, three flights of stairs to climb when hauling up luggage/items for extended stays with multiple family members. Rooms were hot and musty. We had to leave all the windows open to try to cool/air out the room. This was not great because you can hear everyone's conversations from the pool area and all the screaming/crying children. It was a close location but the important amenities were lacking. i don't think i would stay here again.
