comfortable bed in small room in historic hotel; decent shower and WC shoe-horned into already compact room; excellent coffee available from machine on landing; first-class & equally historic Italian restaurant below. Location hard to beat for Fisherman's Wharf and Alcatraz ferry.
Room is one of several in this historic building recently remodelled to incorporate en-suite WC/shower. Result is a shortage of space to put anything - a couple of corner shelves and alcove hooks would allow for toiletries, towels, spectacles, small personal items to be more conveniently managed.

Historic hotel in the very vicinity of the fisherman’s wharf great location, very helpful staff
Unstable WiFi connection, very poor. Please keep in mind that this is a 120-year hotel with all its smells etc.

Great location in North Beach a short walk to restaurants and bars
The overall hotel facilities were not what we expected. It’s described as vintage, but the place is rather run down. A window in the hallway was boarded up, the room was drafty with ripped curtains on the windows, the bathroom down the hall featured old shower stalls that were dark and dingy.
