This was our first trip to the Himalayas, and choosing TSAAM Retreat made the experience truly special.
The retreat is located in the beautiful small valley of Igoo, at the very end of a pristine village, surrounded by nature, with a flowing stream and waterfall nearby and stunning mountain views along the way to Pangong Lake. Being slightly away from the main tourist areas makes it incredibly peaceful and quiet—you can hardly hear any sounds of civilization.
Every day, Gurmet’s mother and the chef took wonderful care of us. Thanks to them, we had the opportunity to taste delicious and authentic local food, including homemade paneer, fresh butter, milk, traditional and cottage cheese, local cheese soup, tsampa, momos, and traditional Ladakhi tea. Everything was fresh, homemade, and full of local flavours.
Gurmet is a wonderful host. Every day, he suggested and arranged new places for us to visit based entirely on our personal interests, which made the experience feel very personal and meaningful.
On our departure day, he even drove us back to Leh and helped us with our shopping, which was incredibly kind and thoughtful.
We highly recommend TSAAM Retreat to anyone looking for a peaceful, authentic, and memorable experience in Ladakh.
