About this house rental
And later, you come back with rosy cheeks, salt on your skin, and sand literally everywhere. The kids immediately disappear back into the garden to play croquet; outside, real teak furniture is set out, and inside, the gas fireplace might already be going, while someone chills the wine or lemonade in the wine cooler.
The “Friesenkrone” is made for exactly these island evenings: cooking together, laughing, pouring another glass, and suddenly realizing that no one feels like going out anymore because it’s just nicer at home. The kitchen is also equipped for gourmets—from a waffle iron to fish bone tweezers, everything you need for long breakfasts or fresh fish dinners has been thought of. Upstairs in the small captain’s cabin, it’s nice to retreat for a bit now and then. Open up your laptop, get a little work done, take in the view of the island, and then head right back down to the sofa, snuggled up with a good novel or the Sylt TV channel playing in the background. Maybe the sauna is already running—it can even be conveniently pre-programmed—while evening slowly settles over the island outside.
And that’s exactly why the “Friesenkrone” is the perfect starting point for authentic Sylt days: a quick trip to Feinkost Meyer in the morning, then a spontaneous trip to Wenningstedt Beach, followed by a fish platter or pasta at Gosch or La Pergola, and in the evening, perhaps a stroll all the way to Kampen. Or simply take a leisurely stroll toward Keitum when the island quiets down.
The “Friesenkrone” isn’t a place for a perfect, glossy vacation. It’s for real vacations with family, friends, kids, or the dog, who can finally run through nature for hours on end again. That’s exactly what Sylt feels like once you’ve truly arrived.
