About this apartment rental
"Country life means relying on oneself, and it inspires us to nurture things, relationships, and events—the choices may be fewer, but what and whom we find take on comparatively greater and more deeply felt significance." (M. Innes)
A “Büdnerei” is a small farmstead that served as a source of supplementary income. What makes these houses unique is that the living quarters, stable area, and barn were all under one roof. As a result, these simple houses are relatively large. The owners individually added feed kitchens and stable areas, so the Büdnereien differ slightly from one another. Our Büdnerei was built in 1905, when the Brunshaupten parish granted land under a hereditary lease.
The land slopes down to the Kattenbeck, a small stream that originates in the Kühlung. The Kühlung is a forested ridge with fantastic hiking and biking trails, from which you can often catch a glimpse of the Baltic Sea. An avenue of poplar trees leads about 100 meters into the cultivated fields. The sculptures “Die Liegenden” (The Reclining Figures) by artist Kalle Wendt, from the Bremen area, welcome you as you enter the avenue and symbolize: Here, you’ll find peace and quiet—and a wonderful place to linger.
