This 24 m² apartment combines serene simplicity with a touch of history: an old, restored wooden door defines the space and gives it its own unique character. Light colors and natural materials create a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. The bathroom adds a warm touch with its Mediterranean-style tiles. The window offers a view of the front garden.

A “Büdnerei” is a small farmstead that served as a source of supplementary income. What makes these houses unique is that the living quarters, stable, and barn were all under one roof. As a result, these simple houses are relatively large. The owners individually added feed kitchens and stable areas, so the smallholdings differ slightly from one another. Our smallholding was built in 1905, when the Brunshaupten parish granted the land on a hereditary lease.
The land slopes down to the Kattenbeck, a small stream that originates in the Kühlung. The Kühlung is a forested ridge with fantastic hiking and biking trails, from which you can often catch a glimpse of the Baltic Sea. An avenue of poplar trees leads about 100 meters into the cultivated fields. The sculptures “Die Liegenden” (The Reclining Figures) by artist Kalle Wendt, from the Bremen area, welcome you as you approach the avenue and symbolize: Here, there is peace and quiet, and it’s a wonderful place to linger.
