You might not notice it at first glance from the outside, but our house in Hausen (Rhön) has a history that dates back well before the year 1800. We’ve lovingly renovated this old half-timbered house ourselves and even exposed a few old beams that are just waiting to tell you their story.
Historic charm with a modern soul
We’ve made a conscious effort to preserve its original character. Not everything in our vacation home is perfectly planned down to the last detail—there are rough edges, old beams, and crooked walls, all of which contribute to an all the more cozy atmosphere.
But as steeped in history as the walls may be, the comforts are every bit as modern: Look forward to a bright, friendly atmosphere with, of course, contemporary amenities like Wi-Fi and TV. So you won’t have to sacrifice any comforts while enjoying the rustic charm of the house.

Note: For bookings of only 2 people, a minimum rate for 3 people applies. This allows us to cover the costs of cleaning and preparing the entire house while keeping the price attractive for you.

Our discount for longer stays:
5% discount on the nightly rate for stays of 4 nights or more
10% discount on the nightly rate for stays of 7 nights or more

Spacious kitchen-living room: Fully equipped with everything you need for cooking and dining.
Living room: a cozy retreat with a TV for reading and relaxing
Bathroom: with a bathtub and shower
🛌 Upper Floor:
All bedrooms are located on the first floor and offer modern amenities for your sleeping comfort:
Room Amenities: Each room has its own TV and high-speed Wi-Fi.
Comfortable climate: Thanks to modern split air conditioning units in the rooms, you can adjust the temperature individually—for efficient, comfortable heating during the cooler months.
Bedding & towels included

Vacation with your dog:
Well-behaved four-legged friends are welcome here by prior arrangement!
Important: Our property is not fenced and borders directly on a street. You’ll find beautiful walking trails and places to walk your dog within walking distance.
Requirement: We require existing pet owner liability insurance and ask that you be considerate and take good care of the house and its furnishings.
Cleaning: We charge a fee of €5 per night per dog to cover the additional effort.

Cozy living room: Equipped with a TV and an additional sleeping area for maximum flexibility.
Large open-concept kitchen: Plenty of space and a cozy dining area that comfortably seats up to seven people.
Modern kitchenette: Fully equipped with a ceramic cooktop, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, and microwave.
Kitchen appliances: Everything you need—from a coffee maker and kettle to a toaster and sink.
Basic amenities: A complete set of cookware and tableware is ready for your culinary evenings.

Linen and Cleaning:
The Ottmar vacation home is equipped for your stay so that you don’t have to worry about the basics:
Bedding & Towels: The use of bedding and towels is included in the rental price. The linens will be ready and waiting for you in the house upon your arrival.
Individual Needs: If you need additional towels, extra pillows, or blankets during your stay, we’ll be happy to provide them upon request.
Smoking is strictly prohibited throughout the entire house. If this rule is violated, we will charge a cleaning fee of 200 €.
We are also happy to offer you the option of washing and drying your laundry upon request.

Parking and Arrival:
Free parking spaces are available right next to the house. This saves you the trouble of looking for a parking spot and allows you to unload your luggage comfortably.
Access is via the house at St.-Georg-Str. 14. The vacation home itself does not have its own driveway. We therefore ask for mutual consideration when entering and parking, so that all vehicles have unobstructed access at all times.

Technology and Entertainment:
Even though our house dates back to before 1800, the technology is state-of-the-art:
Wi-Fi: High-speed internet is available free of charge throughout the house.
TV: For cozy evenings, the house is equipped with modern internet TV.
A selection of books and board games is also available in the kitchen-dining area.
We’d be happy to provide a charcoal grill upon request.
Right outside the front door, a seating area and bench offer space for relaxing moments or a balmy summer evening.

Facilities for groups:
Whether you’re traveling with family or friends—our rooms are lovingly and individually furnished. The spacious common areas invite you to cook, laugh, and relax.
Upon request, a fifth bedroom with a sleeper sofa can be set up in place of the living room.
TV: For cozy evenings, the house is equipped with modern internet TV.
The kitchen/dining area also features a selection of books and board games.
We’re happy to provide a charcoal grill upon request.
