Our Romantic Double Rooms are located away from the hustle and bustle of the city and offer a unique view of the confluence of the Enns and Steyr rivers. Each room is individually and comfortably furnished in a modern Biedermeier style and features a large, comfortable double bed, a bathroom with a bathtub, a desk, and/or a sitting area.
We are a historic hotel and restaurant located in what is arguably the most beautiful spot in the city of Steyr, which dates back over 1,000 years —right at the confluence of the Enns and Steyr rivers.
The **** HOTEL RESTAURANT MINICHMAYR was built in 1589 and has always been used for commercial purposes: it held licenses for innkeeping and baking, and was also home to a tailor and a fishmonger. From 1919 to 1933, it was the Zipfer Brewery and Tavern, operated by the Jurcic family. From 1933 onward, it became a hotel owned by the Minichmayr family. The company name has remained to this day, as it is already known throughout the world.
Since 1978, the hotel has been owned by the Viertler family. The property has been transformed into a beautiful, comfortable, and international 4-star hotel and restaurant with 85 beds and 200 seats in the panoramic restaurants overlooking the Enns and Steyr rivers, as well as the hand-carved, exceptionally cozy Flösserstube. Extensive renovations are carried out nearly every year. Prominent figures from around the world—from high-level politics, business, industry, and the international art scene—come and go here.
With great attention to detail, our business and romantic rooms, wedding suites, and romantic studios have been refurbished in the “Modern Biedermeier style” and equipped with every comfort to ensure a pleasant stay. A spacious, multifunctional, and unique event and business center equipped with state-of-the-art technology for seminars and conferences has been built.
Our panoramic wellness oasis is available to all guests—including those from out of town—for relaxation and enjoyment: infrared cabin, sauna with color light therapy and aromatic steam bath, panoramic whirlpool, and relaxation and meditation room. A first-class retreat in a relaxed atmosphere awaits you.
On-site fees: Check-in between 14.00 - 22.00 and by arrangement; check-out by 11:00 a.m. • Wellness area with sauna, steam bath, infrared cabin, and whirlpool is free of charge • Pets are welcome: €5.00 to €15.00 depending on size • Parking garage starting at €8.00 per day
