Breakfast; location
Lack of lift (and lack of information about this: had I known, I would have asked for a first-floor room)

Located right in the centre of Town and walking distance from the train station. The room was large and well equipped. We had booked a larger than standard room and these are in an annex outside of the main hotel building with a separate individual door to access. The Annex rooms appear to have been recently refurbished to a high standard. Breakfast was a la carte and excellent.
It was pricey but I knew that on booking.

"A very old building nicely refurbished, comfortable with good facilities. The breakfast room / terrace is South facing with an amazing view over the South Downs."
