Breakfast was great, with a wide choice, and everything available. It's in a very pretty location, and I would recommend it or consider for another visit, as there is so much to see nearby.
The under floor was a bit too efficient, making the room a bit too hot.

The building is very old and can do with some TLC in some places, but it sure has character. Staff were very friendly, but it is a little cramped in the bar area. Food was just okay despite what the ratings say about the restaurant, so I can only assume that the chef those ratings were for has moved on.
There isn't anything to dislike about this hotel. Parking can be problematic if the restaurant is busy.

Parking was easy, conveniently located
Both the meal in the evening and the breakfast in the following morning were apauling, the waitress got our order wrong, the garlic bread was cold and uncooked and, we had to return the fry’s. In the morning I had a full English breakfast, but the bacon was dry and almost inedible as were the mushrooms, they had clearly been hanging around for a very long time.
