Very clean, very spacious, kitchen has all the necessities. Futon beds were very comfortable, and each room has individual AC. Location was really good, walkable distance from Takayama center. We also opted for a sukiyaki dinner one night and were provided with all the ingredients and equipment, and it was absolutely delicious and a very cozy way to spend the evening! The host responds quickly and is very helpful.
The bathroom is uncomfortable, there is no storage/shelf space whatsoever. I was only traveling with my sister and it was already a bit of an annoyance, I can't imagine how bad it gets with larger groups, or longer stays.
The main problem was that there is no physical key, only a code to the door, and it seems it's not changed after guests leave. During our stay, another group mistakenly entered the apartment, as they got confused about the date of their stay and had received the code already. We were able to resolve the matter, but it seems like a security risk that should be addressed. For that reason alone, I don't think I would stay there again until safety is improved.
