About this apartment rental
The spacious vacation apartment in the attic can accommodate up to 6 people. It features a kitchen-living room with an oven, a bathroom with a shower, a closet, a bedroom with a double bed, and a living room with two sleeper sofas and a wood-burning stove. The attic is well insulated, so the apartment doesn’t get particularly hot in the summer.
The Landstreicher Hostel, centrally located yet in a quiet spot by a babbling brook, offers 5 separate vacation apartments of various sizes with a total of 16 beds, as well as a common room. The Malerweg trail runs right past the house; the train station, the Elbe River, the ferry, and the steamboat dock are all within a short walking distance.
The house is particularly well-suited for groups. In the common room, you can enjoy meals together and sit by the wood-burning stove in the evenings. Families may want to rent two apartments on the same floor.
On the first and second floors, there is one small and one medium-sized apartment each, accommodating 2 and 4 people, respectively; the large apartment for up to 6 people is located in the attic. On the first floor is the common room, next to which is a dishwasher available for everyone’s use, as well as a storage room for bicycles, strollers, or similar items.
The most beautiful destinations in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains are easily accessible from Königstein. You can start many hikes right from the house, such as to Königstein Fortress, Lilienstein, and Pfaffenstein. Other destinations are easily accessible by S-Bahn, such as the Hintere Sächsische Schweiz, the Felsenbühne and Bastei in Rathen, as well as the city of Dresden. The 118 km of the Malerweg trail takes hikers to the most beautiful spots in Saxon Switzerland. You can also complete its stages from a single base. They are easily accessible by public transportation.
You’ll find a children’s playground a few hundred meters away in the town center next to the church; another one is located on the Elbe near the steamboat dock. A travel crib and two high chairs are available upon request.
On-site fees: We require a deposit of 20 percent of the rental price, which must be paid by bank transfer at the time of booking. If you are unable or unwilling to arrive, we will credit the amount toward a future booking. The remaining balance must also be paid by bank transfer 10 days before arrival. The tourist tax for the town of Königstein is 3.00 euros per night for adults and 2.50 euros per night for those eligible for a discount. With the guest cards, you can use public transportation free of charge in the four fare zones of Saxon Switzerland. Please note that there is no TV, but there is Wi-Fi. If you bring a laptop, you can watch TV that way. (You’re guaranteed to relax even more this way!)
