I loved the location and all the amenities. Staff was friendly and overall hotel was clean and great.
Our room 2007 furniture was outdated/worn and was a good bit of mold. The couch was the worst part. Me and my husband couldn’t sit on the couch because it was so uncomfortable. It would sink in so bad, you would get stabbed by the hideaway bed. There was mold in the stand up shower because the shower head was spraying directly on the wall and ceiling. There was mold around the vents in living room. I do understand with being on the beach there is a lot of moisture in the air but it seemed a bit excessive. The blue lounge chairs outside were cracked and sketchy to sit in and the mesh on the other chair outside was ripped.

The location of Pelican Beach Resort was very conveniently located to a lot of restaurants and shopping. There was a lot of entertainment available within walking distance or a short drive. Destin and the Fort Walton Beach area had a lot to offer.
Pelican Beach Resort as a whole was a very nice place that is right on the beach. Suite 2007 on the other hand was not and it could have been. I arrived on Wednesday and left on Saturday morning. I was looking forward to a quick vacation. Suite 2007 was not worth the $754.03 I paid for it. It is not maintained to the standards that $254.03 a night should be.
1) Dust is so thick that it is visible on the carpet and on the walls in the bedroom. It was noticeable next to the nightstands. Wiped the wall above the Headboard and you could see the dust.
2) The hallway bathroom and the AC vents above the bunk beds (in the hallway) and living room area all had signs of black mold. In the HVAC water heater closet (hasn’t been cleaned in some time) shows signs of black mold.
3) At first glance the sleeper sofa in the living room was dated but ok. Trying to sit on the extremely lumpy worn-out cushion is entirely different. Very uncomfortable to use.
4) The plastic Adirondack chairs on the balcony were so badly cracked that they were unusable. The other chair that was there was ripping on the seat section.
5) I know that pigeons are a messy pest, but you should keep the area clean. There was bird poop all over the two little tables and floor of the balcony.
6) There were areas where the walls were chipped and paint peeling off (by the entrance door) and in the living room.
7) All the frying pans need to be replaced, the nonstick covering is peeling off.
I will say that the TV system provided was good.
