Don't use Avari and familiarize yourself with the place you choose. This place is a ripoff.
We were thoroughly dissatisfied and disappointed with the staff at Avari and Booking.com concerning this stay.
We could have stayed in a motel room and been better accommodated. To be fair, the condo wasn't really the biggest problem. Although it smelled like wet dog. The staff at Avari was the rudest, least customer friendly people we've ever had the displeasure to speak with. They repeatedly belittled us and dismissed our claims over the phone. One lady yelled at me and told me it was my fault that the amenities were unavailable. This is a beach access condo, we payed to be here exclusively for this reason. There was a security guard at the entrance to the beach turning everyone away. We (all vacationers who were staying at St Martin's Beachwalk at least 4 families were at the entrance with us wondering how to gain beach access. One lady said that they had tried repeatedly to contact management and were ignored.) were very upset at the fact that we were all given no warning that the beach access was guarded and unavailable, all of us received the go ahead in a text and the gate code. The beach was open, all other condos had access. Some who were staying with St Martin's Beachwalk were gaining access through neighbing condos. We were told that was against the rules. Mind you, this was all playing out the first day of our 3 day stay. We asked repeatedly for a refund so we could move to a place with beach access and told that we were not getting a refund. We chose this condo specifically because of the beach access. One lady from Avari told us that we were free to find a public access to enjoy the beach. I told her that I knew that, however, we paid Avari a premium for private beach access which was being denied. She flatly refused to accommodate and told me something to the effect that, that was my problem. So, my family spent the first day of our 3 day vacation while I was on the phone between Booking.com and Avari. A completely wasted day. Now, the response I got from Booking.com was disappointing but Avari was infuriating.
