About this cabin rental
Surrounded completely by the Allegheny National Forest, this Private Cabin sits on approx 30 acres within a walking distance of Salmon Creek and the North Country Trail. This Cabin has 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath and sleeps up to 6 people. Deer, turkey, small game and the occasional bear reside in the acreage in and around this property. Enjoy the true meaning of tranquility and recreation in the heart of the Allegheny National Forest and explore what Mother Nature is truly about.
This cabin has an Open Living Room and Kitchen Area with a Queen-sized Sofa Bed. In the 2 bedrooms are a Queen Bed and Bunk Beds. There is a Full Bathroom and Mud Room Recently Added on to the Original Cabin.
Guests have access to the Entire Cabin as well as the Entire Property. Feel free to explore the Land, National Forest, Salmon Creek, and the North Country Trail.
We are typically available throughout the day and only live 15 minutes away if you need anything!
This property is completely surrounded by the Allegheny National Forest, which encompasses 517,000 Acres.
Besides enjoying the 30 acres on which the cabin sits, there are many activities in the Allegheny National Forest and nearby Cook Forest State Park to enjoy. These include 4-wheel riding, snowmobiling, horse rides, and festivals. There is a trail head about 10 minutes north for ATVs.
Telephone & TV is not provided. There is limited cell service in the cabin. Cell service is restored with a short drive up the road. Full sized refrigerator is provided, but there is no freezer. Due to the pandemic, we ask guests to notify us if they have traveled out of the country lately or display any symptoms of covid. We are taking extra measures to clean our cabin between stays, and we are not liable for any covid health-related issues during your stay.
Please remove shoes once inside the cabin. Firewood is not provided, only local firewood is allowed on the property. You can purchase local firewood from nearby towns, such as Marienville and Leeper. Please keep in mind you are in the middle of the National Forest and may encounter bear, deer, mice, and snakes. Please do not feed them or leave food outside.

The Salmon Creek cabin was a great place to stay for biking and hiking some of the trails in the area. The cabin is several hundred feet from the road which had very little traffic when I was there, so it was very quiet. Got to see four deer near the tree line. Also got to see a sparrow tending its nest over the window by the kitchen sink. Amanda and Michael are great hosts. They took care of several small maintenance issues (ultraviolet water filter light replacement, mud dauber wasp nest removal and unclogging the toilet when I couldn't successfully use the plunger to unclog it) quickly. There were a number of ants inside, but they were taken care of easily with paper towels and a quick squish. Adding a ceiling fan or having a box fan available might help make the bedrooms a little more comfortable on very warm days since there is only one smallish window AC unit. If I'm in the area again and the cabin is available, will stay here again.

Communication with host was great. Cabin was very clean and as described in the listing. Great secluded location within 20 minute drive of cook forest. Property itself was beautiful, great star viewing at night! Definitely had a great stay and would consider this cabin for future rentals.

Shower curtain needs replacing
Patio had spider webs on walls/roof, so we couldn’t use it
Microwave was tiny and not cleaned
Kitchen sink area near the drain needed a better clean
Linens looked clean but had some hair and didn’t smell fresh
No toiletries provided (no soap/shampoo)
Towels were clean but very old/worn
