About this villa rental
Magnificent historic villa. Also perfect for 2–3 families, with 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a private salt-chlorinated pool, and restaurants within walking distance. Located on the slopes of the Tuscan town of Montecarlo and very close to Lucca! We’re on the “Road of Flavors and Wines.”
It accommodates up to 10 people.
Wi-Fi throughout the property—air conditioning in the bedrooms—heating throughout the villa.
GROUND FLOOR:
living, dining, and relaxation area, as well as a bathroom with a shower.
FIRST FLOOR
Going up the stone staircase, you reach the first floor. Central living room, 3 bedrooms, bathroom with cast-iron bathtub, and dressing room with balcony.
SECOND FLOOR
central living room, master bedroom with sitting area and access to the main bathroom, and a second bedroom. A luxurious bathroom, featuring briar wood, a whirlpool tub, and a sauna.
Another small bathroom, also with a shower, is located on the stairwell mezzanine.
OUTDOORS
Outside, there is a gazebo for dining and a laundry room with a washing machine and dryer. There is also space to store bicycles or other personal items, or to store garden furniture.
The property is complemented by a large fenced-in park featuring a beautiful swimming pool equipped with sun loungers, rocking chairs, and a gazebo with a seating area. Three “wooden cabins” house the changing rooms and showers.
Not far away is a basketball court and a ping-pong table.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the villa - the check in process was very easy and the house exceeded our expectations. It was beautiful, spacious for a group of 10 and had all the amenities we needed. Both the house manager and the owner were always available - Paolo the owner was very lovely and if you stay you must visit his daughters restaurant in Monte Carlo (it was fantastic). Although the house is relatively near a motorway and on quite a busy road we didn't really feel like the affected our stay, and the train station being close was a bonus for people arriving! The town was relatively local and didn't have many tourists which we loved and there were some brilliant restaurants (La Loggia was a favourite). The only downsides of the stay were that the pool can be a little chilly (although we visited in May), make sure to pack plenty of mosquito repellent and also note that the bathrooms are a very Italian configuration (no stand up showers in the en suites) but honestly it didn't bother us too much as we were having such a lovely time! Don't expect complete luxury, it's definitely more on the side of rustic luxury but for the price it's amazing and we would recommend to anyone! One final thing is that if you are going - make sure to hire cars as taxis are very expensive but again you can get the train direct into Lucca in 15 mins but for other activities (wine tasting etc) taxis are not possible (unless you want to pay 200euros for a 5 min journey for the whole group!). Small things that could be addressed would be more pans for cooking (non-stick), pool towels, plastic cups for the pool and perhaps a WiFi extender as it was a little slower in some parts of the house but this is to be expected in older properties!
