Great location, otherwise this place needs a lot of tiding up.

The location is perfect, only a few minutes walk to the main downtown area and great access to public transport. Another positive was the air conditioning. Quite quiet at night. Host was always available and quick to answer.

I don’t know what was going on with the bedsheets at this place but there were always some kind of urine stains on the sheets. When we arrived there was a fresh, wet and yellowish stain on the bed, covered with a towel and it smelled like urine. We asked to change the sheets and the owner did, but there still remained some kind of dried yellow stains that smelled bad. Another problem was that the place was infested with ants. Couldn’t leave food anywhere and the fridge was too small to put stuff in there. There was also some other kind of flies in the bathroom. Place needs a lot of maintenance, there was paint coming off the walls, the walls and bed had holes in them and parts of the interior were outdated or broken. The pictures of the property need to be redone!

Close to train station, air conditioning

Perfectly Situated & Charming - La Maison des Marins, Catania! (10/10)

I recently had a fantastic stay at La Maison des Marins in Catania, and I can’t recommend it enough! This apartment is truly in a prime location – just a short walk (600 yards!) to the city center, and conveniently close to both the train station and Catania Fontanarossa Airport (3.7 miles). It’s also a fantastic base for exploring the surrounding area, with popular attractions like the Casa Museo di Giovanni Verga, the Catania Amphitheatre, the Roman Theatre of Catania, Piazza Duomo, Catania Cathedral, and even Mt. Etna all easily accessible. Lido Arcobaleno beach is just 1.3 miles away too! For those wanting to explore further afield, the beautiful island of Ortigia in Siracusa is just an easy hour-long train ride away – making it a perfect day trip destination! The apartment itself is beautifully arranged and incredibly comfortable. It features a separate bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen – perfect for preparing your own meals – and a modern bathroom. Plus, the air conditioning was a lifesaver! But what really stood out was the wonderful host. They were incredibly friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Including recommending places to eat, and transportation to/from the airport. Based on previous experience, I can confirm this is a strategically located gem, ideal for exploring Catania and beyond. We’re already hoping to return soon! Highlights: Location: Unbeatable! Central, close to the station, airport, and major attractions. Accommodation: Comfortable, well-equipped, and air-conditioned. Hospitality: Exceptionally friendly and helpful host. Overall: A perfect base for exploring Catania, and East Sicily! Rating: 10/10 - Highly recommended!

Le logement est bien pensé et bien équipé. Facilité d’accès et pour se garer.

Le logement mériterait d’être un peu rafraîchi car de mauvaises odeurs s’en échappent régulièrement et les murs sont bien abîmés.
