Would Not Recommend Due to Property Condition and Host Response
We had high hopes for this villa, but unfortunately our experience was very disappointing.
From the first day, the bathtub leaked heavily during normal use. Water continuously came from underneath or behind the bathtub, despite our efforts to keep the bathroom floor dry with towels throughout the week. We later learned that this had apparently happened before and were told by technicians that the bathtub had not been installed correctly.
Another small but noticeable issue was that none of the showers had a wall mount for the shower head. This meant you had to hold the shower head by hand while showering, which was inconvenient and not what we expected from a property of this standard.
Later during our stay, this resulted in a major electrical failure. We were left without electricity for approximately 20 hours, meaning no hot water, no refrigerator or freezer, no cooking facilities, and no way to charge our phones. Food we had bought for eight people had to be thrown away. No practical alternative accommodation or temporary electricity supply was offered.
Communication was also difficult. The owner was abroad and hard to reach because of the time difference, and the person present at the property spoke no English despite the listing stating otherwise.
The most disappointing part came after our stay. Instead of acknowledging the maintenance problems, the owner kept our entire €300 security deposit and demanded an additional payment, claiming that we had caused the electrical damage. We strongly dispute this, as the leaking bathtub and electrical issues appeared to be pre-existing maintenance defects.
The villa itself has potential and the location is beautiful, but in our experience the maintenance, handling of serious issues, and the way the damage claim was managed fell far below what we expected. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend staying here unless these issues are properly resolved.
