Traveller Beware
The Apartment was clean, and it looked as though the walls were fairly recently painted.
The Apartment said it was a "stylish apartment on the west side of London." Turns out the photos provided were great, but did not reflect the way the apartment actually looked when you were in it. The Apartment was an old walk-up. The outside looked old and bad. The fixtures were, for the most part old and did not always work well. The kitchen sink had little if any water pressure, and the shower was not "top drawer" by any means. The front bedroom was right over the street, and noisy all night due to the traffic. The bed in that room was honestly a joke, it was so broken down neither my grandson or I could sleep in it. The other bed was better - but not by much. The manager wasn't a bad guy, and seem nice to deal with before we arrived to move in - that is when we found out we had to pay a damage deposit before we would get the code to get the key. (You had to get down on your hands and knees to open the box to get the keys - ridiculous). The Booking.com website said nothing about the security deposit. I was told it was merely a formality and that it would be returned within a week of leaving if no damage. I have video proof that there was no damage when we left, but I have still not received the return of my security deposit. There was no information concerning the wifi system (there was one) and the wifi password (my grandson finally figured that out). On the day that we were checking out, I received a notice from the manager that he had plumbers coming over two hours before we were to check out to fix the shower in the bathroom, and he asked if we would let them in and watch them for him. Since the apartment only had the one bathroom and we were going to use it before we checked out - I told him to reschedule his plumbers. The bottomline is that this apartment, was livable, but not what was advertised, and as it turns out, it was highly over-priced.
