About this house rental
Surroundings
This historic, modernized thatched-roof vacation home is situated in a very quiet location right on the dike, near the small Althäger harbor. Formerly known as the “Jörk’sche Hafenkneipe,” it served as the studio of the artist Claus Müller-Schoenefeld for decades and was extensively expanded and modernized in 2015. Here, you can enjoy yourself no matter the season. From here, the wide sandy beach, the cliffs, and the town center—with its shops, galleries, and restaurants—are just a 5- to 10-minute walk away.
To the Vacation Home
Inside the vacation home, a private entryway awaits you. From here, you step directly into the sun-drenched sunroom, which is furnished with stylish furniture and home accessories that blend perfectly with the interior design featuring high-quality hardwood floors and modern home textiles. From the spacious seating area, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the dike and the garden. A cozy, separate dining area with a corner bench also invites you to enjoy meals and conversation together. Adjacent to the living room is the separate, modernly equipped kitchen porch. Here you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the morning sun with a view of the reed beds. From the kitchen porch, you have direct, level access to the large, sunny, and sheltered wooden deck. In the bedroom—which features an en suite bathroom, a walk-in closet, and access to the terrace—you can make yourself comfortable or drift off to sleep in the box-spring double bed, dreaming of the day’s adventures. Another bathroom with a shower, toilet, and double sinks completes the first floor. Both bathrooms feature a heated towel rack that can be used year-round. In the attic, there is another bedroom with a double bed (180 cm). A 400-square-meter garden awaits you—sunny all day long, sheltered from the wind, and harmoniously landscaped—featuring two wooden deck terraces and a sheltered courtyard. Here you can enjoy your privacy and relax.
A parking space is available for your use.
Special Features
The courtyard is lockable and is therefore ideal for storing bicycles, etc. Due to the building’s history, the door heights in the attic bedrooms are slightly lower (approx. 185 cm), which may cause some inconvenience. Since April 2021, guests staying at this vacation home have also been able to enjoy an electric vehicle charging station.
