We were over the moon impressed with this place. It was spotless, had everything we needed and more and was an amazing location! We will only stay here from now on anytime we are in London!

The room was great but there was no hot water during our entire stay. The response to the issue was sub par. After we raised the issue the first night, they told us the water issue was fixed while we were out but they never bothered to confirm. We then informed them about the issue the next day and they told us they wouldn’t be able to do anything because it was Sunday so we had another morning of cold showers. The lack of urgency and diligence to resolve the issue was frustrating.

We loved the accommodation, knowing we were in such an old building with so much history is an experience we’d never had before. Being so close to the cathedral was a plus as we went to evensong twice after hearing the bells at 5:15pm announcing the service was about to begin. It’s on each night at 5:30pm and it’s a free way to look inside and sit in the cathedral. The first night the Archbishop was present to listen to the beautiful music performed by the choir. The hotel room, corridors and one of the dining rooms sloped which just added to the charm. Breakfast is included and a wonderful way to meet and chat with other guests and start off our days exploring the town. Canterbury is so beautiful with so much to see and Cathedral Gate is the perfect resting place to enjoy it.

Location was fantastic. Very hard to figure out how to access the flat and we were given the wrong code at first. Customer service team on phone was good though! Flat is just okay compared to others (stayed in many places in London.) Stains on carpet and curtains. Loose fixtures, etc. Basically, it appears no one maintains the flat....just do it all electronically other than cleaners who come. But no one is there to really keep the place up. The outdoor patio was in terrible shape. Would never consider using it. Beds are definitely very firm and pillows were uncomfortable. Slept on sofa instead. Worked fine for one night for three of us as we were in transit from Scotland to the USA, but I would NEVER book this place if you were looking forward to a London vacation as a couple or family.

Decent location but make sure that you check the details for gaining entry. WiFi was quite poor but the rooms were spacious and clean - although there clearly had been someone smoking weed in our room!
