Very good position on North Bay and our room was excellent Very large, a comfortable bed and 2 easy chairs in the bay window with superb view of the bay. Easy walk to the shops and restaurants and added bonus of a car park.
Only one young lady doing everything. Cleaning 10 rooms, checking guests in at 2 hotels and doing breakfasts alone. Consequently no rooms were ready at the advertised check in time and all guests had to wait. The hotel was full, she could not be faulted in anyway and she should not have been on her own. One would hope this was an isolated incident but management were at fault by letting it happen and not stepping in to help

Very spacious room with huge bay window providing gorgeous views out to sea. Small but clean and tidy bathroom with modernised facilities and a strong, hot shower. Near Scarborough Castle and the churchyard with Anne Bronte's grave, and an easy downhill walk to the city centre or the Scarborough Beach area on the other side of the headland (though, of course, uphill coming back). Friendly staff and a warm welcome on arrival. And do find time for at least one drink at the cosy and comfortable Scarborough Arms pub around the corner on Castle Street!
No complaints, really. The guesthouse occupies an end unit in a series of residential and holiday properties near the top of the north cliff, so a little bit away from Scarborough's nightlife. That was a plus for me, but if you're into eating / drinking / socialising in the more entertainment-focused beach area, be prepared for a steep climb up to your bed!
