Lovely pub where we stayed 2 nights, we ate there the first night & the food was plentiful and delicious.
The first night there was no heating on (late October) the room was huge and there was only a small fan heater. It kept us warm enough if huddled around it but it was too small to warm the whole room.
The 2nd night we put it on again and realised about 8:30pm that the room was getting warm, the heating had actually come on. This made the lovely room feel much more homely.

The Location was fantastic right in the centre of Cartmel. Room was bright and clean with a comfy Bed. We found the staff to be friendly and polite. They also had a singer on both nights we stayed and they was very good if you like that sort of thing
The lip on the floor from the Bedroom to the Bathroom that i stubbed my toe on in the middle of the night going to the bathroom, However that was just me being half asleep and not putting the bedside light on so no problems

The staff were very efficient and friendly. Food was excellent Pub area very cozy
Couple of teething problems with the room but staff dealt with it. Thought the room would have been a little larger

The location of the pub is fantastic and the staff are friendly, the building is old full of charm and character with uneven floors which I really love, all the rooms are named and themed after writers /poets eg Keats. Beds were comfy with clean sheets and were given good sized towels. Food in the pub is very tasty.
The bathroom had a weird smell like damp and were a little dirty around windows, could do with a lick of paint on the walls and a deep clean. If you want an early night ask for a room at the back of the pub to avoid the people leaving at closing time. (Didn't bother us too much)
