The hosts are so lovely, they will go the extra way to make sure that everything is welcoming and propose suited recommendations for you. The ryokan is stunning, ancient with historical value, a family affair of 6 generations. The room is very beautiful, very spacious, well decorated, well equipped, we had a gorgeous view on the river. The included breakfast is in the nearby cafe (1min walk) and it has a permanent gorgeous exhibition from the host’s friend. You can admire this breathtaking art while enjoying a delicious local coffee, and buy some very reasonably priced postcards or frames of the painting replica.
In a nutshell:
expect very attentive and warm owners
A truly beautiful and history-charged ryokan with all the necessary amenities —and more! (because attention to details is indeed a japanese trait, but the hosts exceeded it)
A perfect location close to the cable car going up to this ancestral temple, which you should visit, close to all the onsen because it’s a small town anyway, only about 15min walk from Kinosaki Onsen train station.
Whenever I come back to japan and Kinosaki, i will definitely book at Migumiya ryokan again.

The hotel owner is incredibly polite and helpful. They took great care of us from check-in to check-out. We had a wonderful stay. The location and price are fantastic. Everywhere is spotlessly clean. I just have a small suggestion regarding the pillows and mattresses. I have stayed in Japanese-style floor beds before and had no issues, but this time both my wife and I woke up tired and sore in the morning. Perhaps these could be improved

落ち着いた雰囲気と女将さんの対応がすごく丁寧で良かったです。
歴史ある旅館で城崎温泉街のことをたくさん教えてくれます。
観光雑誌、ネットからはわからない情報も教えてくれるためすごく良かったです。
