A 3-star hotel / bed-and-breakfast - very personal, friendly service. The hotel is visited daily by locals buying newspapers. All meals cooked to order, including breakfast - a nice change to the usual experience in hotels nowadays.
We turned up at about 4.30pm to find opening time was 5pm - we must have missed this in the instructions. The hotel was open promptly at 5 pm however. On the Sunday the bar closed at 5pm so dinner had to be elsewhere - not a problem for us as we always tend to have a meal in the hotel on the first night, then try other restaurants elsewhere.
The owner told us about the history of the hotel - they have been there for around 26 years. All in all, a very relaxed, personal atmosphere, a nice change from the usual hotel experience.

Have only eaten there before and that is why we're keen to return and we were not disappointed. A great pub with a great atmosphere, lovely hosts and our room was very comfortable. As previously the food was great.
