When we go to Durango, this is where we stay every time! Everything is so well thought of at this hotel: rooms are beautiful, cookies in the afternoon, real cups and glasses for coffee and water, lovely breakfast, and patios on every level to watch the trains and visit. The staff is fantastic & friendly.

Can’t say enough good things about this hotel. The perfect mix of modern and historic. The breakfast was delicious! The location is great for the Durango to silverton train. Would highly recommend. We ate at a place called steamworks and it was great also.

The General Palmer Hotel is a great place to stay while visiting Durango. All the downtown attractions are within walking distance. My room was clean and well furnished. The only improvement could be the breakfast. On offer were the usual things a regular motel on the interstate offers eggs, oatmeal, waffles, pastries etc. The quality of these items could be raised a notch to match the quality of the hotel. Thank you for a comfortable stay.

The staff was very helpful and courteous at all times. The whole building was restored to a very high level of quality and that is coming from a high level former custom home and commercial contractor. The convenience to the train ride, shopping and restaurants was excellent so if ever back in Durango, we will stay again.
