I loved this hotel, as a solo traveler, the staff were so accommodating and the buffet breakfast was excellent.
The carpets in my room were worn and could do with replacing.

Amazing garden around the hotel, extraordinary flowers, trees, like a botanic garden. Spacious room, nice view from the balcony. Very good breakfast, large variety from cheese, fruits, bakery.
It was unpleasent to go on foot to the centre of Funchal, the pavement was missing, it was better to go by public bus or taxi.
Grab rail was missing in the bath. No socket near the bed.

Nice location above the city with nice views of Funchal and the harbor
Doing repairs including jackhammering when we arrived. Pigeons on the outside deck during breakfast, no shuttle to downtown and not walkable to town. Taxi’s and some restaurants were cash only and the hotel had no ATM.

Staff were lovely, breakfast was fantastic! Great TV in rooms and comfy bed. Sauna was awesome and pool was quiet
Room has a lot of damage, shower curtain showed signs of mould. There were stains and rips in carpet and a lot of leaks from ceiling during heavy rain. No conditioner provided and generally just felt the room showed a lot of wear and tear. It was clean aside from shower curtain however.
