Compared to many hotels the breakfast was a real bonus. A full English included in the price is a rare and appreciated plus. The room was comfortable and warm and we both slept well in the soft bed. The view from our window on the first floor was perfect. The pub itself was a welcome warm haven in the cold damp weather and the food was excellent. Finally a word of praise for the staff, who at all times were helpfull and cheerful.
The car park was a little on the poor side with puddles and an uneven gravel surface. There was no footpath or designated parking spot for paying guests After a journey out we returned and could not find a parking spot as there where a large amount of people booked in for lunch, plus there was nowhere for us to sit. Finally, I am not a young man and I found the stairs to our accomodation poorly lit and very steep and was dismayed to find another set of slippery steps up to our first floor room. I must admit this spoilt our stay a little as I was expecting the stairwells to be covered rather than being open to the elements.

Location perfect for us.
Room was very clean but needed a little bit of maintenance. Some light bulbs not working Shower switch very stiff, bathroom fan flap on outside blowing all night/ very noisy .
Our room number 10 garden room was pitch black outside when leaving and entering the room as no light in the garden.
Staff very nice and helpful
Food in pub was very good but a bar snacks menu woukd have been nice too.
Parking very good.
Breakfast not so great. Food was ok. Toaster didn’t work very well only toasting on one side in some slots. No choice of fresh fruit or yogurts.

Everything is up and down steps. Car park is suffering from building work.

The car park is messy, the entrance is full of pot holes. My room was a little tired, the TV remote was not working, the pop-up sink plug was stuck so could not drain the water and the loo seat was lose.
The pub is very homely and the food is very good along with the service.
