About this house rental
Former seigneury (classified 4*) totally brought up to date, with an incredible site on the banks of the river (20 minutes from Tours)

This enchanting place inspired Honoré de Balzac for his novel "The Lily in the Valley". The building with thick walls combines luxury and a bohemian atmosphere conducive to well-being. Many paintings by Touraine artists adorn the spaces, furniture and objects have been found in local flea markets or unearthed in family attics. The most beautiful castles of the Loire are nearby (Azay le Rideau, Villandry, Rigny-Ussé, Islette... as well as Balzac's house less known but just as charming). After an intense day of culture, you can rest on a deckchair by the pool or laze on the banks of the Indre. Two starred restaurants are also our close neighbours, "l'Auberge du 12" and "l'Auberge Pom'Poire". A book of suggestions for walks, activities, restaurant addresses is at your disposal. Bicycles and canoeing on site.

We spent a week with friends in this charming house located right on the Indre river. Very spacious and nicely kept property with a vegetable garden, grill, pool, table tennis and even a canoe. The inside of the house is tastefully decorated with lots of unique little details, from furniture to art and even the dishes. The hosts were very nice and responsive to any questions or issues.

The photos on the website don’t do justice to this wonderful, L-shaped, property. Sympathetically restored with lovely rooms and surrounded by wonderful gardens. Not to mention the pool and access to L’Indre river which runs past the gardens.
The hostess is friendly, charming and very helpful.
We loved it and plan to go back
