Tradition meets modernity in this top-class vacation home—this historic house, built in 1880, was completely renovated in 2019, fitted with a high-quality kitchen in 2022, and furnished with great attention to detail. Since the summer of 2016, the doors of the former captain’s house have been open to vacationers from near and far, and this charming vacation retreat has since become one of the most popular vacation homes in Carolinensiel.
The detached vacation home is located right on the spa promenade, between the idyllic town of Carolinensiel and the North Sea beach at Harlesiel.
The light-filled house has three floors and, with over 90 m², offers plenty of space for 4 people. The Captain’s House at the Friedrichsschleuse is the perfect vacation home for guests looking for that special something.

Our goal is to offer our guests the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing vacation. That’s why free Wi-Fi is just as much a given for us as made-up beds, a free linens package including shower and hand towels, and a reserved parking spot in front of the house.
The Kapitänshaus at the Friedrichsschleuse has been awarded 4 stars by the German Tourism Association (DTV) and promises superior comfort and first-class amenities.
The light-filled house has three floors and, with over 90 m², offers plenty of space for 4 people. The Kapitänshaus at the Friedrichsschleuse is the perfect vacation home for guests looking for that special something.
From the invitingly designed entryway, you enter the spacious living and dining room with a direct view of the Harle River and its historic drawbridge. The living area features real wood parquet flooring and includes a cozy sofa corner with a flat-screen TV, white country-style furniture, a dining area for 4 people, and a freestanding fireplace.
On the first floor is the modern, fully equipped kitchen with direct access to the 25-square-meter terrace. Whether it’s sun loungers, a seating area with a parasol, or a beach chair—every wish is fulfilled here!
Both on the first floor and in the basement, you’ll find state-of-the-art wellness bathrooms with high-quality amenities: walk-in rain showers, towel and floor heating, as well as an infrared sauna for soothing warmth after a day at the beach.
The well-insulated upper floor features two spacious bedrooms and a separate restroom. The master bedroom, featuring real wood parquet flooring and a view of the Harle, has a comfortable double bed, a crib, and plenty of storage space. The second bedroom is furnished with twin beds.
In the basement, which has a separate entrance, you’ll also find a washing machine and a clothes dryer. The house has its own parking space.
