The host was really kind and helpful re my bike and a very good chatty congenial host at breakfast. Loved the breakfast included in the price. The place is wonderfully quirky and like an old fashioned bnb.

I booked hardwood Hall as a place to get away and do some quiet writing. I specifically chose it for its low price and its proximity to Dublin airport (1 hour drive). Based on the reviews I knew it wouldn't be a high-end experience, but also not a bad experience.
I liked the casualness of the place and the relaxed attitude of Gerry and his staff. The feeling was more of a shared space than a hosted experience, and that was perfect for me. No airs and graces, everything was provided and you looked after yourself (although I felt that you would be looked after if anything specific was needed). At the price, the included cold breakfast was a real bonus, and I was welcomed to use cooking facilities in the kitchen.
Relaxing, quiet and independent-feeling, which was just what I needed. Close to Kinnegad town, which has plenty of supermarkets, a library and restaurants.
I can't complain about anything, but I will check with the owner the next time I stay to see if they are busy. It was nice and quiet for my writing needs when I was there, but feel that any noisy or inconsiderate guests could be disturbing. YMMV.

Quirky fun place to stopover. Quiet and everything that we needed as passing through cyclists. Very friendly host with lots of stories.

Breakfast was simple- eggs, cereal, toast, yogurt. It was worth it for the price and location that we were looking for. I would far rather stay somewhere with some character, supporting a real person rather than a sterile place that benefits a corporation. Like everyone else has said- the bunnies on the property were a treat to see!
The place was fairly run down and not super clean, but we knew that going in.
