Location was great but initially a little difficult to find. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The separate shower had a very musty smell, but it was only for one night. Initially upon entering the building af the Pink Street entrance had lots of stairs to carry your luggage until we got to the floor with the bar area then you could use the elevator. The side of the bar entrance had no signage to let you know you arrived at the hotel.

The hotel is definitely not what I expected - I should have looked at the photos of the hotel in more detail! It is an adult hotel, with a particular flair. Definitley not the type of hotel to take children too. However, it is a great venue. The location is great for transport, next to a train, bus and tram station, with good restaurants. The attending staff were great - there is no real reception, but a call room. The decor of the room is 1920's style - if you look beyond the innuendos, it is really nice.
The location is great for transport, but the actual street itself is the Pink street, with a number of loud venues. Furthermore, access from one side is blocked for safety reasons. The cab taxi actually could not locate hte premises from the main street, as from the main street, you walk through the bar. The place is loud. Water pressure in the shower is low compared to other places. No lift from the bottom entrance.

Pensão de Amor was a clean, comfortable, and tastefully renovated former brothel with a fun, unique theme. Located on a lively party street, the downstairs bars turn into a nightclub until around 3 a.m., so guests should be aware of the noise. However, the rooms were well soundproofed, clean, and thoughtfully decorated. As my first night in Lisbon, it was a memorable and enjoyable experience.
