About this apartment rental
A very cozy vacation rental in an old farmhouse in the Birkland/Hofen district, renovated according to principles of ecological construction. The 64-square-meter apartment features a separate entrance, has been individually furnished with great care and taste, and can accommodate 2–3 people. In the hamlet of Hofen, there are only 8 properties, 4 of which are traditional dairy farms. No traffic noise disturbs the peace and quiet. For shopping, there is a small supermarket with its own butcher shop, bakery, and garden center in the town of Herzogsägmühle, 6 km away. You’ll find larger stores in Peiting or Schongau. At the nearby restaurant “Zauberhütte,” you can enjoy the stunning mountain views while savoring a slice of cake.
The “Beim Sattler” apartment features a living/dining room on the first floor with a fully equipped kitchenette. The bathroom is equipped with a shower/toilet, sink, and hair dryer. The first floor is accessed via the entryway, which features a coat rack and a shoe bench. There you’ll find the bedroom with a large double bed (2x2 meters/high-quality mattresses), a wardrobe, and a large dresser. If needed, a crib for a toddler can be rented. An open loggia with a TV and reading area has been set up between the bedroom and the stairs. A sofa bed (1.25 x 2 m) is available there for an additional person. The entire vacation apartment features oiled wood floors (except in the bathroom), and thoughtful details create a “cozy” atmosphere. Right outside the private entrance is the east-facing terrace with seating and a grill, a small garden, and a parking space. A lockable storage room is available for bicycles or skis. Please note: Close supervision of small children is required, as our pond is located right next door.
What can you experience? The idyllically situated Moorsee lake at the “Seehäusl,” complete with a sunbathing lawn, a café-restaurant, and Greek cuisine, is perfect for swimming. It’s accessible by car or bike. Or you can visit the town of Dießen am Ammersee and combine a day at the beach with a steamboat ride. A public outdoor wave pool in Peiting as well as the “Plantsch” water park in Schongau, featuring a slide and sauna area, are also worth a visit. The area surrounding Birkland/Hofen is located in the heart of the Pfaffenwinkel vacation region and offers a wide range of opportunities for exciting bike tours and hikes.
