Location was a big plus.
Staff were friendly
Dining room was very grand and well set out.
Quite a lot of stairs(3 lots) to get to our room and no lift - they did indicate this when booking but no indication was given of just how many stairs there were.
People cleaning rooms just dumped clean bedding and towels on the floor in the hallway. This did not suggest a serious attitude to hygiene.
Breakfast was barely satisfactory for vegan or vegetarian guests. Very few options in all areas compared to all other hotels we have stayed out during a 5 week trip.
No fridge or safe in rooms
No way to modify temp in your own room - appears to be done centrally.
We could not park on site either night. Fortunately there was a free car park behind the hotel.

"What a wonderful hotel!
The location was brilliant, the building is beautiful and the staff were wonderful (especially the young lady at front reception who was so kind and helpful)."
