It was very clean and well decorated. Very close to the beach.
There were not many facilities at all, we needed to use the car to go for any activities, food or a drink nearby. The staff generally weren’t particularly friendly or helpful and the restaurant was very disappointing. We had the most expensive pizza of our whole time in Costa Rica and you could literally snap the slices, it was not fresh. Whilst the hotel was relaxing if you don’t want to do much, overall we don’t believe that this hotel could justify the high price given the lack of amenities, distance from anything and quality of the food and service.

The hotel was very clean and beautifully immersed in nature, allowing you to truly connect with Mother Nature. The atmosphere was quiet, peaceful, and relaxing, making it the perfect place to unwind and escape from the everyday routine. The pool area was wonderful, and I really liked the room decor, which added a special touch to the overall experience. Overall, a beautiful place to relax, recharge, and enjoy the tranquility of nature.
While the hotel has a beautiful natural setting, I don’t believe it lives up to its advertised five-star boutique hotel status. Several aspects of the experience fell short of expectations.
The room had areas that needed maintenance, and even the bathroom trash can was in poor condition. During the first two nights, I was unable to sleep properly because a fruit falling from a tree above my room kept banging loudly throughout the night. After I complained, the hotel offered to move me to a three-star hotel because they were fully booked, which I declined since that was not the standard I had paid for. Fortunately, I was able to change rooms on the third night.
The parking situation was also disappointing. My online reservation indicated that parking was included, but upon arrival, I was asked to sign a document disclaiming responsibility for vehicle damage. When I raised my concerns, the front desk employee explained that the parking area was part of the public street, despite the area being cleared for parking and monitored by surveillance. This left me uncomfortable and dissatisfied with the lack of clarity.
The restaurant experience was particularly disappointing. At breakfast, I ordered the traditional Costa Rican dish gallo pinto and discovered a cooked insect in the food, which I had already ingested. It was a truly disgusting experience that nearly made me throw up. I was not offered any compensation or meaningful resolution for this serious hygiene concern.
Later, I tried to order pizza from the menu, only to be told it was unavailable. I ordered chicken strips instead, but they were burned and inedible. When I reported the issue, the front desk employee simply said he would inform the kitchen and hotel manager. Once again, no compensation or satisfactory resolution was offered.
Overall, the hotel has great potential thanks to its beautiful surroundings, peaceful atmosphere, and pool area.

Room 13 is noisy and getting woken up by the staff arriving in the morning with bikes was the only thing to complain about.

Good location, great staff
We were there for two nights and almost half of our stay we didn’t have electricity so water was not running and also the AC was not working of course. This was really uncomfortable at night since it’s extremely humid. I understand this is not staff’s fault but we didn’t even have a response when I raised this with customer service. It’s been more than a month and still waiting for a response.
