Ive stayed here a few times now as it is close to my HQ for work. I like the option of a morning swim and the beds are comfortable. There is a choice for breakfast. The coffee machine as breakfast is convenient.
The breakfast sausages are not to my liking and I preferred the clubhouse space for breakfast. This time we were in a general use room and it felt very awkward as a solo traveller and the view was not as nice. The room does not feel very inviting. Some areas need a bit of tlc and painting

Nice spa and gym, comfortable beds, friendly staff
Poor Wi-Fi, cold rooms, low water pressure in the showers, the whole place could do with being renovated.

The location for our requirement was excellent. The building was impressive but needed a little uplift.
The linen could have been better.
The dinning room had a cold atmosphere particularly due to the cold lighting. The meal was not to a standard expected.

The free spa and parking . Nice staff try hard.
Histrionic building and grounds kept very original.
Poor signage should say hotel reception or guests check in at spa - where to park - should be one way system. Lovely place should be telling its story and history as you walk around - few more painting and it’s dead silent no background music or tv on walls , no lounge area marked up you just seem to have to wonder around and find your way?! Menu limited no add ons or starters . A few cheap upgrades missing . Jet wash the old tennis court looks a mess !!
